Hi folks,
This is my first "real" foray into the world of political blogging.... This actually my own form of therapy….’hope you enjoy, but if not, you can dialogue (nicely) with me, read on, or just hit the road. I am doing this (for myself) because I need to get it out of my head and “on paper”.
ANYWAY, onward:
To me all issues affecting the US of A hinge on the main issue – the national security & welfare of this great nation. Without a secure homeland, the other issues are meaningless.
"Torture"
How we treat our enemy combatants or “political prisoners” (whatever.) is secondary to finding the way to stop a bomb from going off in a US city (or a city of one our allies), and especially secondary to the safety of our soldiers in the line of duty.
In my humble opinion, if the enemy combatant's fingernails (or finger) have to come off, to obtain information that may save a hundred thousand or only a measly hundred people, so be it.
God forbid I am ever in that person’s shoes, but if it did happen to me, in the immortal words of Mel Gibson (as the character Martin Riggs in the movie Lethal Weapon):
"Guess we're in for a long night, 'cause I don't know s***.")
